Want to put your software development skills to the test with a range of complex, bespoke systems for a well-recognised tech consultancy?

This tech consultancy builds large-scale, bespoke, business-critical systems for some of the world’s most high-profile organisations. The business is expanding and they’re in need of people with experience of application or solution architecture to join their team of talented developers, creating complex software solutions across challenging business sectors.

You’ll have a noticeable appetite for technology with experience of building enterprise systems, evaluating existing IT systems and advising on technology choices. You should be comfortable solving complex technical problems and presenting proposals to prospective clients.

You’ll be surrounded by smart, highly-capable people in a collaborative environment that encourages the sharing of knowledge and experience. You’ll need to be passionate about doing software engineering right, and ultimately delivering great solutions.

They follow an Agile approach with solid development practices, using a wide range of modern technologies depending on the requirements of each project, including C#, Java, Scala, Node, Angular, Knockout and React.

This is a hands on, client-facing role which combines deep technical knowledge with the ability to clearly communicate technical matters.

You should have:

  • A relevant University Degree

  • Strong commercial experience with enterprise-level systems

  • Strong technical expertise in a range of technologies, including one or more of:

    • C# and/or Java

    • HTML5/JavaScript and frameworks such as Angular, Knockout, etc.

  • The ability to manage clients and advise on technology choices and system improvements

  • The ability to build prototypes demonstrating technical choices

  • Experience of helping people build and deliver high-quality applications by:

    • evaluating IT systems

    • overseeing application-level design decisions

    • helping solve architecture-level problems

  • Experience of using Agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

It would be beneficial if you have a deep knowledge in some technical areas such as:

  • Microsoft stack

  • Java stack

  • HTML5 development ecosystem

  • Scala/Spark/Hadoop

  • Big data

  • Enterprise integration patterns

  • Micro-services

  • Service-oriented architecture

  • Infrastructure setup and monitoring

  • Performance

  • Security

Tech stack aside, it’s a great company to work for.

Great because they reward their staff:

  • They look after your career, by investing in your training and development.

  • They allow you to progress; flat structure so you don’t need to wait for your boss to leave, you’re promoted on merit.

  • They look after your family, with death in service plans, income protection, childcare vouchers and up to 38 days holidays a year to spend with them (which rise with service).

  • They look after your health, with discounted gym memberships, cycle to work scheme and optional medical cover.

Plus, you’ll get a decent 10% pension too.

Yes it’s a great company. Yes it’s a great role.

But that’s our opinion. It doesn’t matter what we think.
